2024 AKI & FYU Knit
There are only two months left in 2024, a year that saw a record number of summer days.
I was wondering when autumn would come, and it has arrived beautifully. It's almost cold.
Most of the autumn and winter items are now in stock in the stores.
In fact, there are still a few items that are only available at our directly managed stores, so look forward to them.
This time, I'd like to talk about two knit materials that I created for this fall and winter.
I first encountered this yarn during a meeting at a certain knitwear manufacturer, Mr. K.
It is made by twisting five strands of thread created by that manufacturer.
The beautifully trimmed grain was expressed at the yarn stage.
The project was originally planned to proceed in a completely different direction, but the plan was changed on the spot.
Since it is made of 5 strands, a maximum of 5 color combinations are possible, so we agonized over the colors...and this is the material that was created.
The knitting and design are kept as simple as possible to bring out the characteristics of the yarn.
The vest type is designed with the warmth of autumn and winter in mind,
The width is wide so that it can be layered over a hoodie or even on top of an outer garment.
When you touch it you can feel the fluffiness of the yarn and the oily, heat-retaining texture of the material.
It's not too thick so it can be used in a variety of temperatures and situations.
Until now, Fil Melange has been known for its Wool Boa series, which is released in the fall and winter.
With the warmth of this winter, it's difficult to use it daily (it's too hot).
I thought about what to do to replace it, and the result was
The answer was "low gauge pile knit."
We asked for cooperation from Mr. Y, who has a long track record in knit products and knitted fabrics.
We were asked to create a knitted fabric with a strong three-dimensional feel.
Two types of products were created with a slightly wider design.
The fluffy and spongy texture of boa is still present in this pile.
The colour of the ground yarn/pile yarn is changed to create depth.
A half-zipper and cardigan that can be used as a mid-layer or outer layer.
These are knitwear pieces that you can wear over sweatshirts.
Layering in the fall is always fun.
It is not yet the peak season for autumn leaves in Tokyo,
Please come and take a walk to the store while looking at the view outside.
We look forward to welcoming you with hot tea and clothing.
