2024 Mud Dyeing Event
From October 12th (Saturday) to October 14th (Monday), Amami Oshima asked Higo Dyeing to dye the fabric.
We will be holding a showcase and sale of mud-dyed items.
From the middle of Saturday the 12th until the end of the 13th,
Mr. Yamamoto, a dye craftsman and leader of Higo Dyeing, also came to the event.
How is it dyed? How does mud dyeing work?
We hope to have a leisurely chat with you as you choose your outfit in magnificent colors.
Fil Melange has been working with Higo Dyeing for over five years.
They have easily overcome the hurdle of not wanting to try mud dyeing unless they can actually experience it on site, and are now creating a variety of wonderful products.
The items on offer at this event are sweatshirts and short-sleeved T-shirts that can still be worn,
We also have a special hat that is dyed with indigo-colored de-wool denim.
I'm just writing this while putting the finishing touches on it.
The impression is quite different when you see it in a photograph and when you actually see and touch it.
The deep brown finish seems to absorb the light, so be sure to come and see it in person in store.
